A Team Approach

We recognize that child abuse is a complex community problem to which no single discipline is able to fully respond.
This is why the York County Children's Advocacy Center uses a multidisciplinary approach to the investigation and treatment of child abuse.
Six disciplines represent our core team:  Victim Advocacy, Law Enforcement, Child Protective Services, Prosecution, Medical Health, and Mental Health.
Together the team meets regularly to evaluate the interview and medical exams of the child, monitor the progress of the investigation, discuss the victim's ongoing safety, and provide input into prosecution decisions.
