Who We Are

Mission, Vision & History

Mission

Our mission: to reduce trauma for children and families through collaboration in child abuse investigations, prevention education, and advocacy.

Vision

Our vision: to create a trauma-free environment for children in York County through comprehensive services and community awareness.

Guiding Principles

  • Child-Centered: we believe implementing a "child first" approach will ultimately help the children we serve.
  • Integrity: we believe that by following the most ethical approach, we will earn the trust and respect of those we serve.
  • Trauma-Informed: we believe the best way to support the needs of those we serve is to recognize and respond to the symptoms of trauma they exhibit.
  • Empowerment: we believe the children we serve must feel in control of their situation and allowed to tell their truth.
  • Safety: we believe in creating an environment where all feel comfortable sharing and are listened to, which creates optimal outcomes
  • Collaboration: we believe children and families are best served when we all work together
  • Inclusivity: we believe all voices and perspectives need to be considered and respected.
  • Evidence-Based: we believe continuous learning and utilizing proven approaches ensures the best outcomes.
